Our Traineeship 1 course is for any young person aged between 16 – 18 who are looking to pursue a career in Childcare.
The duration of the course is 24 Weeks and you are required to have a C Grade in either English or Maths, plus one other GCSE Grade C or above in any other subject to qualify for the course.
At the end of this course you will have achieved a Level 2 Certificate in Children’s and Young Peoples Workforce, Level 2 Employability and Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths or English.
Opportunities to progress on to the Level 3 Early Years Educator and other related courses will also be provided once you have completed the course.
How will it work?
On this course you will complete three days at college which is based in Edgbaston, where you will complete assignments in Childcare and Employability.
(And if applicable attend your English, Maths and ICT classes.)
As a part of this course you will also be required to complete two days a week at a nursery setting.
Bursary will be paid based on your attendance.
(£5 each day meaning a total of £25 can be earned each week.)
