Course Information Childcare
Our Study Programme 2 course is for any young person aged between 16 – 18 years who is looking to pursue a career in Childcare.

The duration of the course is 7 months and is designed for learners with a Grade E or below in Maths or English.

On completion you will have achieved a Level 1 Certificate in Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children’s and Young Peoples Settings, Level 1 Employability, First Aid, Food Hygiene, Level 1 Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT.

Opportunities to progress on to the Level 2 Children’s and Young Peoples Workforce will also be provided once you have completed the course.

How will it work?

On this course you will complete three days at college which is based in Edgbaston, where you will complete your Paediatric First Aid Training and Food Hygiene course and also complete assignments in Childcare and Employability.
(And if applicable attend your English, Maths and ICT classes.)

As a part of this course you will also be required to complete two days a week at a nursery setting.

Bursary will be paid based on attendance.

(£5 each day meaning a total of £25 can be earned each week.)
